We are happy to announce to our members that we have once again been offered a space at the Hillsdale Shopping Center for our BAS Annual Art Show. This years space number is #357, right next to our space from last year, (next to the store "Justice" across from the "MAC" store and close to "Apple"). We are so thankful that the mall has again graciously agreed to help promote our art and our group. And now we have to get to the hard work of putting the show together, which means we need you members to act a.s.a.p. and start sending in your entries and bio information. This years space is not as large as previous years and we can not use the walls for hanging. This means we will only be hanging on our BAS panels and possibly some floor easels, so we will need to limit the painting entries to 3 per member. Of course this is in the hopes that many of you members participate.
All artists will be responsible for handling sales of their artwork after the event has concluded. If you have artist business cards please bring them with you on drop off night and we will make them available to visitors. In addition to your business cards, we will have a detailed artist binder with your contact information. We would like to include in this binder a brief bio of your art career, art experience, or just a brief statement of why you love art! Please include your bio on the back of the Entry Form or send to Diana via email ([email protected] ).
As we have done in the last few years, we will accept delivery of your artwork on Thursday evening, August 16th around 8:00 pm. If you wish to participate, but are truly unable to deliver at designated date/time, and can not find a family member or friend to deliver for you, please let us know. We can try to make arrangements for you to drop your work off at an earlier date/time at another member's home. Pick up will occur at end of show on Sunday, August 19th at 6:30 pm.
Judging will take place on Friday prior to show opening. Judge to be determined.
Last but not least, as before, we plan on having an opening reception for the show Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:30 pm.
We really need your help to make 2018 another great Show! We need your talents and your time to make this event successful! We will be asking for volunteers (via email) and will need help with the following: 1-accepting artwork on the night of drop off, 2-setting up panels on Thursday evening, 3-hanging artwork on Friday morning, 4-manning the store front (2 hour shifts) Saturday and Sunday, 5-circulating postcards/flyers and getting the word of the event out via social media, 6-helping with show takedown on Sunday. PLEASE remember "Many hands make light work".
